Meet Keith, the visionary behind Pictorial, whose passion for the art of photography ignited at the tender age of 12, setting ablaze a lifelong pursuit of capturing captivating moments. With an astounding 33 years of experience in the field, Keith’s camera collection boasts an awe-inspiring array of 69 meticulously curated cameras, each accompanied by a treasure trove of lenses. From iconic names like Fujifilm, Canon, Leica, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, and Panasonic, to the innovative craftsmanship of Pentax, Keith’s encyclopedic knowledge spans the realm of renowned camera makers.
Before establishing Pictorial, Keith honed his expertise as a regional trailblazer in consumer electronics at Panasonic Asia-Pacific. Fuelled by an unwavering love for cameras, photography, and cutting-edge mobile technology, Keith’s creative brilliance has attracted the attention of esteemed camera manufacturers such as Sony Asia Pacific, Olympus Imaging Singapore, Fujifilm Singapore, Nikon Singapore, Huawei, Zeiss Singapore, and Gitzo.
From 2012 to 2017, Keith reigned as the official X-Photographer for Fujifilm Singapore, leaving an indelible mark after his resounding success collaborating with Sony Singapore. Following this illustrious stint, he joined the ranks of Nikon Singapore as a revered Nikon School Photography Course Singapore Instructor, leaving an indelible imprint until the culmination of 2018. An insatiable thirst for photographic mastery and technical prowess, coupled with the unwavering support of his employers, has bestowed upon Keith a wealth of experience, firmly establishing him as an authority in both domains.

Contrary to popular belief in photography, relying heavily on editing software should not be the primary focus when seeking to develop a good understanding of the craft.
While using editing software is not inherently bad, beginners or photographers with little to no foundation may find themselves overly dependent on editing functions within the software, which can hinder their exploration of photography settings in real-world applications. This obstacle prevents photographers from developing the patience and keen eye required to capture truly exceptional photographs.
Furthermore, excessive reliance on editing software often leads to an overuse of settings, resulting in a digitally altered appearance that detracts from the emotional qualities that can be achieved through a balanced use of light and shadow.
Many photography courses include editing as part of their curriculum. However, it is crucial to question whether this approach truly allows beginners to grasp the essence of photography or if it merely serves as a process that detracts from the authentic photography experience.
In fact, modern digital cameras are equipped with advanced technology that enables the creation of remarkable pictures without the need for extensive editing. Unlike many other photography schools, our courses promote a holistic approach to learning photography, emphasizing the importance of capturing organic images without relying on editing software.
Taking extensive in-class sessions and note-taking alone will not suffice in mastering photography. To truly maximize the techniques learned in our courses and gain practical shooting experiences, participants must venture outside and witness how lighting conditions change, understand the characteristics of their cameras and lenses, and identify and rectify their own shortcomings.
While there is a significant learning curve between shooting alone and working alongside a professional photographer, it is essential to have an experienced mentor guide you through a photography course. By the end of our carefully structured courses, you will be amazed to find that photo editing is no longer a necessity on your photography to-do list.
To ensure a high-quality learning experience for all participants, our photography courses are conducted in small classes of five people or through one-on-one private sessions. This approach allows our photography mentors to provide personalized guidance while keeping the prices as reasonable as possible. Additionally, participants will enjoy flexibility in scheduling and rescheduling.
After years of conducting photography courses, Keith has meticulously designed our curriculum to provide beginners with little or no knowledge of a strong foundation in photography techniques. In a relatively short period, participants will be able to create impressive photographs that do not require any editing software.
